WORK EXPERIENCE

 In 2010, I started as a Company Lawyer / Legal Counsel and set up and shaped the legal department at her former employer. In this position she was the point of contact for all corporate legal issues and responsible for:
  • setting up the contract management system and drafting and implementing standard contracts
  • reviewing contracts and supporting and advising during negotiations with suppliers
  • providing solicited and unsolicited legal advice to the entire organization, from management to employee
  • settling legal issues, including trademark law disputes, advertising law issues, administrative matters and bankruptcy of suppliers
  • creating legal awareness by means of instruction and training courses
  • managing the legal staff
In 2013 Heleen was promoted to Senior Manager Legal & Compliance. In this position she was, among other things, responsible for the Legal department, consisting of 5 FTEs. She acted as sparring partner for the Manager Legal and dealt with very complex legal issues, including trademark litigation, advertising law, administrative law issues, supplier bankruptcies, property related and liability matters.

Heleen is a generalist and she is good at translating legal documents into comprehensible language for every employee at different levels. Her expertise can be used for drafting and reviewing contracts and other legal documents, in Dutch as well as in English and German.

EDUCATION


In April 2008, Heleen successfully completed her Masters in International and European Law at the University of Groningen.
